Swap Saginaw 4 speed to World Class T5

Postby BigBadWulf » Fri Nov 23, 2018 9:41 pm

I have a 1975 panel express with a 350 swap mated to the original Saginaw 4 speed with a BorgWarner overdrive. I want to replace the old Saginaw with a S-10 world class T-5. What is the spline count on the Saginaw input shaft?

I believe the input shaft on the Saginaw was 10 spline but I don't recall.

Yes, the Saginaw is 10-spline. There are a couple of threads covering T-5 conversions, they have their challenges. Use the search function to check them out.

Thanks for the help. There is an outfit in Florida that will custom build T5 transmissions. I needed to know what to order. This Vega is one I built with my son some years ago. I am planning to do it up right this time.

If you are interested in a hydraulic clutch conversion, I have this available $229 delivered. This is the pedal end of conversion you still need an internal concentric slave and hydraulic hoses. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=45778
