Aluminum wheel lug nuts

Postby fyrftr50 » Mon Jul 16, 2007 10:14 pm

For those of you looking for lug nuts for your alloy rims, here is what fits ...

- 1975-77 Monza 10-holes are a match to early Cozworth Vega lugs

- 1978 Monza 10-holes, 79-80 Skyhawk D-holes and 77-80 Sunbird snowflake aluminum rim lugs are a match to 76-82 Vette, 77-81 snowflake and turbo wheels and 78-79 Camaro alloy rims

The ebay seller corvettesouth http://stores.ebay.ca/CorvetteSouth-Par ... ccessories has these exact lug nuts listed on ebay regularly and also has the Monza, Skyhawk and Sunbird wheels on his listing to inform and educate everyone. Good seller too (also sells and ships internationally and would take them back if they were not an exact fit - but they were), I bought my lug nut set off him, highly recommend. He was more than enthusiastic about listing his vette lugs with the H-Body wheel selections as well.

Early 10-Hole Aluminum wheel lug nuts. These are also used on early Cosworth Vega Wheels. The GM part # for these lug nuts is 329383.

Here are some pics of both styles of lug nuts together to show the differences.

Nope. The shank on the later lug nuts won't fit into the holes on the early wheels AND the flange on the later lug nuts won't fit into the counterbore of the early wheels. :(

Someone with those lug nuts should take them into NAPA. They have a nice book with lots of lug nuts they may be able to match up some.

Getting the shank to fit sounds like an easy fix, with a drill press. Some simple machining should be able to adjust the counterbore.... I would think.

Yes, those are the early version.

With some Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish and some elbow grease that rim would shine like chrome. :D
