I'm going to pick up a 1976 Towne Coupe over the
weekend. This car has a 305 V8, 4spd stick, factory a/c,
p/s, & p/b. Anyway, I'm going to begin restoration.
The car is all stock with no modifications. I would
like to keep the stock engine and tranny. My question
is this: What bolt on or rebuild alterations should
I make to have a stronge running engine and not the
weak 120 hp engine that it was origanaly.

Thanks,
Travis

I know you wrote this some time ago but in case
you are looking for advice. I have '75 V8 4spd. I am
not smog legal but where I live they don't check
until you sell. I had a friend build a duel exhaust and
run it through a Flowmaster double in single out
because of room limitations. I put on the rear sway
bar,Carerra shocks and added a performer 4bbl with a Carter
500 cfm AFB.It runs real strong.
