Edelbrock 1406 Carb Electric Choke, Where to Wire?

Postby sayporsha » Thu Sep 24, 2009 12:30 am

I have an Edelbrock 1406 carb with electric choke. Does anyone know where I should wire it in my 73 Vega? I assume the wire should be hot under start & run conditions. Sorry to ask, but I'm a bonehead when it comes to electrical.

Ignition power can easily be found(where else?) at the coil; that is as long as you're not running breaker points . Also, if you're NOT using the original 4-cyl. oil pressure sender, there's a pink wire on it as well.

Note- the very act of listing all of these has made me realize I have some kind of problem.....

Thanks Spence, you da man!

So, if I'm already splicing into the pink OP sender wire for HEI, any problems wiring the choke there too?

The pink wire originally was to provide power for the electric fuel pump; it should run BOTH the HEI ignition and the choke with no problem.
