have you thought of using the 99-05 s10 blazer front brakes ? they use 2 piston calipers and larger rotors

Image

How much bigger in diameter are they? Aren't those different spindles too?

BTW, Im using superlite wheels from Pack racing 15x7 4.4 bs and 15x8 4.33 bs only bs available, gotta make em fit.

i wanna say they are 12" rotors , and the spindles are different as these use the sealed 1 piece hub bearing , they also fit under 15" wheels as that is what most came with

but i believe the s10 guys just swap the brackets , calipers and rotors over to the older models and non-blazer models

I don't have them yet, but Napa lists those Blazer rotors at 10.82" diameter. I think regular ones are 10.5"? Of course the biggest benefit is the 2 piston caliper. The rotor is seperate from the sealed bearings, like this pic. Not like the regular style at all.

Jeff,

The stock size rotor for the dual-piston spindle is 10.82" in diameter. They are the ones on the left. I made a bracket to adapt C4 12" rotors and calipers, but those won't fit under 15" wheels. I did save something like 5 lbs. a side using the Vette calipers over the S-10 iron ones.

Yes, the single-piston and dual-piston spindles are different.

schwartz vega, pm tim mccabe he did the s10 dual piston and spindal conversion on his 72 vega(kermit) he runs the 15 inch z28 5 spoke steel wheels on it with no problems. he is quite knowlegeable when it comes to cars(ENGINEER) he can also rebuild the stock tach for you to work with a v8 and make it very accurate if you have the gt dash he has done tachs for quite a few members here with all great results.

I finally got the engine / trans to fit. Modified the heater box, fabbed motor mounts, I had to cut the upper area of trans tunnel to clear the TH350.
I tried ex manifolds from 98 vette, G8, 5.3 truck, and Buick Ranier/Trailblazer. The last ones worked.
Here's a shot and the wheels.

Wow, interesting the ranier manifolds worked. How high did you have to raise the motor?

Here's some more pics, tunnel is done, rear wheel well mods to clear the calipers and more tire clearance, also seam welded lots of areas.

Only about 1/2 inch, but had to mod that area anyway due to the rear calipers contacting the body when the suspension compressed.
