Easy to find Sidemarkers

Postby flowerz489 » Thu Mar 04, 2010 12:59 am

Thought I would let everyone know , I got some nice looking sidemarkers from the local junkyard. Off a CHEVETTE , exact same as a vega, theres plenty of chevettes in junkyards, so dont buy the expensive ones of ebay.

That's what I have on the front of mine. The guy at the boneyard just let me have them, so they were FREE mint side markers.

I think there aren't any rears though... since the Chevette has wrap around taillights? Anyways, the rear sidemarkers are easy to restore. Just go to a hobby shop and get some transparent candy red paint. Mist a little on, now you have nice deep, red, and clear side markers.

The early ones did have rear side markers, not sure what year they changed to the wrap around tailights. In my part of the country it doesn't matter if all of them were free, because in the last three years here I have seen a grand total of one chevette in the local yards. And it was pretty well stripped of anything usable.

The rear ones for some reason are harder to find, I do have a very nice set for sale at the moment though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... ESELX%3AIT
