When emergency braking (skidding) my car pulls to
the left, almosts at a 90º angle at 30mph. To make it
easy on the car and tires and to augment the problem I
did this when it was raining. Needless to say it was
scary. I don't have a problem slowing down the car in
dry pavement but I'm worry if I have to stop the car
in an emergency situation. I have the 5 lug malibu
conversion, the rear end is a ford 8 inch and power brakes.
The car does brake alot better after I added the
power brakes and the 5 lug conversion. Any suggestions
on how to approach this problem would be greatly
appreciated. Marcelo.

Usually, when I brake hard the right back rear
tire locks up before the front ones. I bought a
proportioning valve but I have not installed it yet. Would this
P. valve improve what's happening?
I don't know
if the back end feels as is coming around or not,
all I know it locks up before the front. Should I try
to brake hard in dry pavement? Currently I have a
set of skinnies in the front, Would this be safe with
these tiny tires in the front?

Did you read my reply on the H Body Club??? I think you have a soaked lining or a misadjusted brake. Check those first...Robert
