you can still buy one at o'rielys but you won't get the money you pay for the core charge back, consider that to be how much you paid for a broken used one to give them this ad says $3.00 core charge thats cheaper than you could get someone o send you one for a core http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detai ... water+pump
i currently drive a geo metro, insert silly joke here,, but i'll pass you while your getting gas
If you don't have time/money to do it right the first time, how will you have time/money to do it again. Timmy

If you want to split hairs, there's 4 SBC pumps; early(short) late(long), 72-82 Corvette(short with extra heater hose nipple on the top)) and V8 Monza(short with threaded hole for P/S bracket on top). If you're in a pinch you can use any short pump but there can be pulley alignment and fan bolt pattern issues with the early short pump but the Vette one will work by eliminating the bracket. Another possibility is an aftermarket short pump; $60 in iron or $120 in aluminum from Summit.
Edit- There's more; late87&up with serpentine belt drive are reverse rotation.
The "fleet"-
72 Vega HB Drag Car -383/'Glide/9"(9.35@146.19)(5.94@117.28 1/8th)
77 Vega Estate wagon- project(someday)will have TPI305/T-5, S-10 spindles/axles
76 Vega GT- 400/4spd/9" retired from active duty(rusty)
06 Silverado 2WD ex.cab daily
03 Silverado 2WD ex.cab (retired)
06 Haulin' 20ft enclosed car transporter
06 GMC Canyon Shop truck
07 Colorado project( 5.3 4L60e swap)
99 Saturn SL1- wife's car
01 Saturn SC2- son's project
07 Saturn Ion Redline project
and 4 more Saturn "parts cars"
Note- the very act of listing all of these has made me realize I have some kind of problem.....
