This was my best pass ever. Best numbers at each increment. Cold that day. I was not racing, just making time trials. Sorry for the poor quality picture from my phone. Mine is 383 on the right. 5.891 sec. ET, 116.64 mph, 1.325 60'. Car has 388 stroker w/ Pontiac aluminum heads, glide, 4.88 gears. I have a set of 5.38 gears ordered to try next year. We'll see what that does. Right now I'm crossing the stripe at about 6800 rpm, but I shift at 7200 rpm. Engine pulls hard to about 7300 or 7400 rpm. I'm looking for a better 60' without secrificing top end. We'll see. Rick

Wow! And with stock type suspension at that. Now I see why there's a chute on it. Again I say wow!

Just had to check the math on those numbers on Fasterthasome's timeslip; the calculator says at least 950hp. That's pretty close to double what my "little" 385 makes. HOLY CRAP!

As far as the suspension the front end is factory, A arms all steering components brakes etc the only thing changed is front springs and single adjustable shocks and travel limiters.

Rear suspension is a 10 bolt with factory lca brackets in the factory location and a torque arm mount in factory location on housing.

Rear is attached to body using tube heim ended lca's in the factory lca mounts on the body and in the factory hole and factory hole on housing end. No mini tub nothing relocated etc. Also using factory panhard bar and single adjustable shocks with factory rear springs. Torque arm is a moly tube solid rod ends with the front mount non adjustable.

I did remove front mount off the transmission tailshaft and made a tubular crossmember that bolts between subframe connectors to mount front of arm. I used the factory mount as the guide for front mount point when I made the torque arm but moved off the transmission tailshaft.

Clyde wants to know about the suspension, but I want to know more about the motor;I figure you must have a 250 shot on top of a pretty serious "big inch" small block...

Nothing really special, its a 23 deg 406 a 4150 carb with spray and some hooker 1 3/4 headers. I am debating bigger tube fender exit headers and a dominator it might pick up some.

Also the trans is a th350 with a shift kit and proper assembly nothing real special, no trans brake no full manual valve body . I ran raybestos clutches and factory steels until 2 years ago when I pulled it to freshen. Went with alto reds and factory steels. It has a 300M sprag race but the rest of the hard parts are factory parts.

first run in the rebuilt car with the new motor,

forgot to shift into 3rd so i only got a good 1/8th mile run out of things. and i launched at idle.

now to pull everything apart and check all the bolts (lost 2 bolts off the 3 piece header) and check the rub and everything else,

Wow! Your car is flying RockDaddy! I have HP envy. You're running about a half second faster than me in the 1/8th mile. Nice pass. How does it handle over 160 MPH? The guy I bought my Vega from told me the rear end felt real light over 140 MPH in the 1/4 mile. I have only raced it in the 1/8th mile. I installed a rear Pro Stock style spoiler in case I do go to the 1/4 mile with it. Do you have any pucker factor when you get out of it after the finish line traps?
