swapping from the 78-80 nose to the 75-77?

Postby 79 spyder » Mon Jul 08, 2013 12:09 am

So I was wondering what if would take to put a 75-77 front nose piece on a 78-80 Monza. The nose piece on my 79 is quite sun damaged and I thought I would take the opportunity to swap to 75-77 nose just cause I like the look better. IMHO the grill on the later model Monza's looks kinda out of place and the ones on the earlier Monza's has a more clean look too it. I f I would have to swap the core support then I was thinking of putting signal lights under the headlights and then turning the existing signal light holes into like brake cooling vents or extra airflow through the radiator or something. if anyone has done this or vice-versa and could shine some light on the process that would be great.

Thanks.

I know it has been done but can't give you any info as to what's involved. I would try and get as much with the nose as possible like the metal retainer that it bolts to. Do you already have the 75-77 nose piece? If so, did you get anything else with it?

I'm in the process of tracking down the parts and I was just wondering what parts. I was thinking the front nose piece, the head light assemblies and the bezels that's all i can think of. The thing I'm worried about is the core support. hopefully that's the same or I'll have some fab work on my hands.
