Glass

Postby Monza Harry » Thu Dec 26, 2013 4:02 pm

Have any of you talked to either of these companies about glass for our babies? if you do please post up your impressions/experience. I am looking for "new' side glass for my car so I will talk to them just looking to see others impressions and spread another possible source. Thanx and I hope this helps Harry http://www.vintageglass.com/index.php?l ... t_list&c=2 or these "guys' http://1800autoglass.com/contact-us.html P.S. It seems to me from the web page that vintage can make our glass and a volume buy would be cheaper.

I just had a look at those two stores Harry. 1800autoglass a NOS windshield to suit my Monza but I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the price - $645.00. Now if I convert that to Aussie dollars and then work out the shipping......... I may get it landed over here for about $1000.00 Sheesh  I had a look at vintage glass and sent them an email to see if they can do me a windshield. I'm hoping they can do one a bit cheaper

Thanks Ian I'll give them a go in January. For everyone else out there, Vintage glass will do a brand new windshieild for ONLY $965.00 (US). After picking myself up from the floor I sent a message back and asked if freight was included. The answer - "Yes, and all the free beer you can drink". At least they've got a sense of humour. I guess the lesson that I've learnt from this is to put my windshield well out of the way of marauding possums that like to knock heavy stuff from shelves :x

I have started talking to this company (from 'Jersey) and he claims to have a lot of "classic glass" and he is looking into my 4 pieces of side glass. I will keep you all posted as things progress. He now has an entire education on '78 Monza's as there are so Many types (remember the Vega Variants, as well as the notch's, well that did cause a little compatibility/communication gap) So that is all sorted out, with me sending him a pile of links to help guide him through the muddy waters with these sometimes painful little cars. Harry http://1800autoglass.com/ (that is his toll free No. BTW) or his eBay addy http://stores.ebay.com/bkclassicautoglass/ Happy New Year!!!!
