lower GT black rocker paint

Postby 67shovel » Thu Jul 10, 2014 1:44 pm

I'm ready to mask off the rest of the car and paint the lower rockers with some semi gloss black. I don't remember how the paint is on the door sill though. The sills are the body color now but the black GT paint line would go onto the sills too? Anybody got a picture of a correctly painted GT sill plate? 73 GT wagon
thank you,
Roger

I think he wants to know about the part when you open the door. Where does the black stop?

Clyde,
that's exactly what I need to know. Can anybody take a pic of their sill on a GT with the door open?
Thanks,
Roger

Roger,

This is what is painted out on my 77 Vega hatchback with custom exterior. It is still original paint, bought it new.
Looks to have been painted to the bottom of the trim on the front and rear fenders, then over to the edge of the flat part in the door sill.
The paint towards the front is quite worn thin.

Just checked my '73 and the paint ends in the same place.

I've been using SEM brand trim paint and I love this paint. Wish I would have started using it sooner in my restoration hobby.
