Opel four speed question

Postby 1972vegaz28 » Sun Aug 16, 2015 1:09 pm

Hey guys I have a question about my trans. I am replacing the pan gasket on my opel four speed equipped 72 vega. Took the pan off and a few pieces fell out. No idea what they are, was wondering if someone could identify them?

I am not familar with the Opel trans but the Saginaw has a similar ball bearing and spring for the reverse lever inside the trans. The other parts are hard to make out, might help with some different pics with some different angles. Obviously something is broken off, maybe part of a shifter fork?

I was able to figure out the ball and spring, it was for the reverse lock notch. And I believe you are right , I think the brokenew piece is off a syncro fork. Yikes.

Well if you decide to dig into the trans and verify that it is actually part of the fork (1st and 2nd or 3rd and 4th?) you are going to find little information or parts for this trans. However, I may be able to locate a NOS fork if you need it. Let me know and I will do what I can......
