Hey philip1, welcome to the board. I did some research, pertaining to your question. What I came up with is: TH200 were manufactured from 76-78, TH200C were 79-86. TH200C has less parasitic hp draw than a TH350, and a TH400, but were problematic due to the early design lockup convertor, as were the TH350C. Improvements on the lockup convertor, since the introduction of the 700R4, has greatly increased the reliability, and longevity, of the TH200C, and TH350C. That being said, you will need a TH200C to rebuild. Buy an updated convertor, and pay particular attention to input and output shaft end play, while rebuilding the tranny, as this is also a cause of premature tranny failure. There is a shim kit, if still available, to deal with the end play issue. Sorry for being so long winded, but this was all good information that I thought you might like to know.
