Thanks for think n bout me. but, no updates.
I did get my driveshaft done and back in. Had to lengthen it just a bit. was "F" body shaft. worked, but was just a little short for my liking. needed to be deeper in trans to make me happy.
been busy with life, like we all are. Still gotta get it dyno and have tuned. other than that, mechanically should be all sorted.
Good news is, havnt given up, still tucked in shop patiently waiting for me to get back to it. Funny how they do that.

I was curious due to your comment about the turning radius on your S10 spindle conversion as I am contemplating this on my new project
car once again.

Now I am thinking about going with the GM A-body spindles/steering arms I think they are shorter than H-body or S10 so they may
quicken the steering and ultimately have more brake options. Then the questions begin again, which ball joint to use etc.

Have you driven it enough or got it aligned well enough to tell about the steering?

thanks for checking in, any pics or videos to post would be great of course as always!

I havnt had it to an alignment shop.
I have its pretty close thou. Borrowed a buddies old set of slipper discs and played with it myself.
It will go to shop before many miles put on it for sure.
Drives nice, havnt had on expressway or anything, but 50mph or so feels fine.
I just don't feel it has turning radius it should.
I have even cut the stops damn near off the spindle where they hit the control arms.
BUT, I have never driven a stock Vega either.
It is what it is.
Just gotta remember not to try to whip in a parking spot real quick.
may take 2 trys. lol

Cruise in bout 5mile from house Friday nite.
weather permitting, Vega is going.
Give my buds a little sneak preview, and get a little feed back on it.

You mentioned that you had to lengthen your driveshaft; kinda late for me to bring this up, but there are extra long yokes available that can accomplish the same thing without cutting & welding. This one is about 3" longer than stock, and can be cut to fit.

Note- the very act of listing all of these has made me realize I have some kind of problem.....

Yea
I thought about the longer yoke thing. Prob. just me, but, I didn't like the idea of the u joint being further away from tail shaft than ness. seams to me that puts extra load on bushing. Having that extra leverage out there spinning. I don't know, just my 2 cents.
Plus, the new yoke, and new u joint, would have been basically 2/3 what I paid to have shaft done, including new joint.
Thanks for the input thou, for sure.

Finally made it to the Dyno/Tune part of this show.lol
Had a few hick ups, Bad M A F, stupid wire thing. bla bla bla. Anyway, nothing too serious for a 1st time LS build I think.
Got it all ironed out now.
Local Shop. Cincy Speed. Tuner Tracy Scott dialed it in for me.
Gonna drive and play for a while, finish pretty stuff this winter. Will be fresh for spring 16.
283hp, 318 ft lbs. @ wheels. Bone stock 5.3. I'm happy :D
Hope this link works.
