That is one clean vega you got there! I'm jealous of that minty interior. I would keep that 140 as long as it wants to hang on. Granted I only put about 150 miles on mine before it started smoking like a diesel train, I really liked how the old motor hummed. Good luck and keep us updated!

I get a similar response to mine, but I've always wanted a V8 Vega. The original
2.3 and automatic trans has served me well but I'm ready for a little more. When
I bought mine I envisioned something with more power, bigger brakes and tires,
and hopefully better handling (Yeah, should'a bought a Camaro  ). Now that
I know there is a nicer original Vega in the same province I won't feel as guilty
about "violating" mine.
I will also take a moment to say that you have done an awesome job on your
van. I've had a couple standard wheel base passenger vans and wasn't long
learning to appreciate them.

Well Thanks Ken, but I'm not sure mine is nicer or cleaner it still needs a lot of loving and clean up to get it even close to your VEGA but thanks for the complement. :th:

I got the interior back in and gave the old girl a tune up she is good for another 50,000 lol... I have been driving it as much as I can and I think she likes it cause she runs pretty good. I found a 2002 S10 for sale real cheap and I plan on doing the 5 lug swap this winter. I hope to find out about the s10 tonight :th:

Jess make sure it isn't a 4 wheel drive as those fronts are different and the rear axles are too long and I believe the Blazer/Jimmy may be different too, a quick parts store check of the front rotors will tell. Rock Auto and AutoZone are both pretty good at using the actual part for their "Image". Many of these came with "Unit Bearing" hubs, (all 4X4/4wheel drive and some others, I can't find an exact detailed crossover, but a quick look see should sort it out) my 01 Sonoma is the correct one for the H-Body swap so just do a quick check to make sure, these aren't a Universal" swap over. Hey Thanks Zeke but I think I will be modding this one slightly.
Well I found a set of 14" rims and thought I would mock them up and see what they look like

I found a G80,GU6, rear out of a chevy S10 that I was going to pick up on Saturday but the wreckers yard was flooded out and they didn't pull it for me so with any luck I will be picking it up tonight or tomorrow. I removed the old rear out of the car scraped the wheel wells free of the undercoating and started to make new brackets for the S10 rear. I want to replace all the bushings wile I'm at it and found a complete set for the Vega from energy suspension.they have red or black and use a hyper flex performance polyurethane . They sell a complete set front and rear with sway bar bushings. Has any one used this brand

I have to ask the question; why didn't you take the disc brake rear end? Was it from a 4x4?

Ya it was from a 4X4 and it was too wide.
But i did find a Posi 3.42 with drums and started to set that one up. I made a jig from the old rear and started to fab up some brackets for the s 10 rear.
