Have you driven it enough "casually" to get an Idea on MPG?
I drove mine back and forth to work a few days. Trying to be good on the skinny pedal. Got about 23MPG.

probably this week going to take a cruise up to Indy to see what the mpg will be,, I'll be happy with anything over 25
It's so hard not to pound the loud pedal with these little cars :th: :th: you doing good with 23 city!! well done!!

I've been off grid(no cell service and no internet at my cottage) for the better part of the last week, and missed the whole Maverick thing. Funny it should come up right now; last week I received a "remove derelict vehicles" notice from the City Bylaw Compliance office. My 76 Vega that has been sitting in the same spot beside my garage for 20+ years was listed as a Maverick. :bang:

and 4 more Saturn "parts cars"
Note- the very act of listing all of these has made me realize I have some kind of problem.....

I wish I could get away with that; around here they're fussy about vehicles that are not registered and inspected. Now I have to either move it to my parent's farm(300 miles away), or junk it.

took the car for a hwy cruise,, got 25mpg cruising at 74mph(2000 rpm) with a afr of 15.2 :D
this is with the 3.08 gears, locked up converter..67 overdrive.. I am going to change the gears
either to 3.55 or 3.73.. leaning toward 3.55,, I still want the mpg as high as I can get :bump:
the in town drivability is kinda lacking with a 3500 stall for my liking, with a more of a street gear
instead of the hwy gear it should be better :)

Yeah the 3500 converter will feel a ton better with some more gear out back. My dad is running 3.42's/700r4/3200 stall. It feels excellent on the street.

excellent,, that's what I wanted to hear,, I saw what gears he had and was going to ask, but figured
I'd wait till I heard his times this Sat! if they have scales and you have time, try to get the weight of his car
Thanks!!

well after putting about 2k miles on the car, I've decided to change the gear ratio in the rear,, from 3.08 to a 3.73 :? The pass side rear bearing was leaking too, so it's getting fixed..

I plan on adding frame connectors :th:
I removed the 1-2 gear shift accumulator to help with the gear shifts( I hope  ) :bang: :bang: ( I ended up rebuilding the whole trans,,)

I am also going to try to reinforce the mounting points for the rear control arms,,also going to install new front coil springs in the deep pocket a-arms I got,, more picts to come

I read through the whole build but I couldn't remember what you have done to the tranny. I have to recommend this kit. You can easily put it in in a weekend. The guy is an ace on 4L60E's and 700R4's. I'm running these kits in two vehicles and they make a world of difference. I even put this same kit in my Astro van when I was pulling a camper to firm it up after toasting the clutches pulling a hill. It's crisp just daily driving but full throttle it barks the tires in my 195k mile AWD Astro. The tranny runs cooler (no slipping between shifts) and I picked up two mpg's in the process. Spring for the 2-3 shift valve as well. I had some problems on the first kit putting it in, emailed the guy and in less than an hour he called me and walked me through it. Highly recommended

Make sure it's the correct one, he has several versions for different year models. This is just the link I have boomarked.

well I don't know what's going on with photobucket :bang: :bang: :bang:

I have had the Vega down again,, putting a set of frame connectors in, welding up the rear control mounts (I cut access holes in when the grinding marks are so I could install the bolts) and rebuilding the transmission :(
I smoked the direct drum band and one set of clutch packs,, I called Art Carr and spent way too much money with him
I have done some front seat mods,, I had bought a set of 88-92 Corvette seats and I was hoping to get them in also, with a new camaro console
I scored off of craigslist, here is some of the SLOW progress

putting new seat covers on
