Pinterest claims that was from the 1976 auto show. I also found this shot from the other side, it does look like a '76 sunbird grille, and the hubcaps have the black accents:

I think you nailed it with 1976 Detroit Auto Show, at 1st glance I was not sure it was the old Cobo Hall as the distinctive chriss crossed flourecent lights are not visable, but I see they are just turned off and just the Emergency lights are on it the picture you posted. Thanks for posting and the info!

Didn't realize the thread had moved! Glad to see it's a "Best Of" thread, but I can't post though - pretty much all of these photos I've posted are All Rights Reserved/downloading (copying) them is a nono. Got to IMG or BB code them.

I see most of your posted pics, the odd one is missing. Don't believe that has anything to do with moving the thread though.

NICE! A Mini, Lotus Europa, a couple of uncommon Volvo's (is that one to the rear called a P1800?) I think I am seeing the front of a mid '70's Cadillac, (what is that blue one up front, is that a "Vauxhall"?) a vintage Benz, and of course the best one there a bright red MONZA! Some may think I am showing bias but two of us can't be wrong! :) I take it that was a show/cruise in that you attended. Thanx for sharing Harry

Hi Harry, i think the blue ragtop is a Volvo. Check emblem on the grill as is the one behind the Monza.

Yes the blue rag, and the red quad door are both Volvo's I know [I see 5 maybe 6 Vulva's* in that pic], that small [even compared to a Monza] one with "Mags" behind the quad door is the one I can't remember for the life of me. Funny thing is I don't remember them as that sharp back then. That little car looks pretty mean right there. The other one in question for me is the yellow one that is exposing only one head light. Harry P.S. * Spelling error "Volvo" it should read. P.S.S. I had to go looking and this is what I found: http://www.oldcarscanada.com/2011/01/19 ... -epic.html, and:https://www.flickr.com/photos/sherlock77/2265425/, and for yet another H-Body tie in: https://petrolicious.com/articles/this- ... s-for-sale. And yet one more pic of these "Pre Vega" rides: https://www.flickr.com/photos/sherlock7 ... otostream/ So if I read/quick scan that article correctly that is a Vauxhall Envoy Epic, it appears there was a "GT" version too. I am not at all familiar with the European versions of what came to Canada. Love to hear back on this.
