I like that group. There's a ton of v8/race vega pages, nice to see some stock stuff.

Bob is pretty knowledgeable regarding Vegas, and has some beautiful cars. However, his people skills aren't much. I'd like to see the cars, but his commentary..... not so much.

That isn't his lack of people skills, that is his "Enthusiasm" overflowing! What do you mean NO! And yes he is a long time well informed enthusiast we have to give him that, but those of us like that can be an "Acquired Taste" Harry

In his case, I think it's a lack of people skills, or an inferiority complex masked with bravado. (I just made that up :)). Like I told him, I've been around Vega's since 1971, and have the '73 I bought new. And I will still point out every single flaw in the Vega's design.

Being aware of the flaws in these cars and still loving them makes most of us members here fanatics. Being honest with ourselves(and others) about those shortcomings is what separates us from the deluded wingnuts.

It's great to see a like-minded bunch of blokes.
About 32 years ago I came across a pic in a Street Machine magazine over here. The story was on a 75 Monza and I fell in love with the looks of it. I laminated that picture and it has travelled around the country with me during all my postings in the army and also when took my discharge after 22 years of service to Queen and Country.. It has always taken pride of place on the front of my fridge wherever I am just to remind me that one day I was going to get myself one of them. I had a few distractions along the way - 5 different C4 Vettes - but I finally picked mine up about 5 years ago. Now that I have my dream car I keep telling everyone that Corvettes are like arseholes - everybody has one. My missus reckons I should have just done what was needed to get it on the road but when I started to have a close look at it I found a few problems so I ended up taking it back to bare metal and starting from scratch and doing a lot of mods. If you think you have problems getting body parts over there then you should try paying for freight to Australia  I sent some pics to Dick (Hammer Down) recently and he is going resize them for me and post them in this site when he gets a chance. Thanks Dick.
The attached pic is the car that has kept my dream alive.

It does appear that Bob has softened his Purist stance; he's posted pics of a bunch of Pro Street and Pro Touring Vegas. But I bet that tubbed Cosworth really set him off. Somehow I missed that.
