Hey Guys.. Thanx for the ideas and comments. The slave on Transmission above is cool, but curious how he gets the hydraulic push...
Here is the update... I now have all my parts to move forward. I found a great NWC T5 on eBay. The WC tradeoff for me was a mechanical speedometer and $300 Cheaper. That will pay for the goodies inside the Monza Bell housing. It is a Z28 box with the right gears, a shifter (most don't include one) and a mount.
-- I have the whole setup for the hydraulics. The McLeod Pull style master cylinder is a thing of beauty It would mount nicely, and be a slick addition to the setup. I charged into the hydraulic conversion as an engineering challenge. I love interesting challenges, and this one is successful. I added a couple pix here.
The truth is, that the stock monza clutch setup is very simple and nicely engineered. I also have the parts for that setup as well. (Got a cover for the throw-out arm laying around?)
So for now, I am going with the Monza Cable setup. I'm only waiting for my son to clear a couple projects out of his shop so I can get on the lift. I will have it rolling by spring.
I'm really excited to get this done. Hot Rods are a lot more fun with a clutch.
