suggestions on saving the interior plastic

Postby 1oldmf » Sat Mar 11, 2017 8:39 pm

77 skyhawk, the interior window trim, hatchback trim all brittle and crumbles at the touch,

any way to save it, repair it, replace it?
spoke to my interior guy, he said he could wrap it with Naugahyde , but afraid it'll crumble if I remove it.

That's terrible. I think once it gets to that point there is no saving it. I have cleaned and repainted some of mine with SEM but it wasn't brittle.

May need to find a parts car. Where are you located?

in AZ, have a parts car with equally brittle plastic,

the sun bakes the plastic into powder.
