While I never had any serious firewall issues I did realize that there was a small amount of flex and wanted to do something to eliminate it. The brace transfers a lot of the stress from the cable away from the firewall and to a much stronger part of the chassis. It's a good tip for anyone with a manual trans/clutch cables setup.
