removing glovebox liner

Postby chevyart » Sat Apr 01, 2017 4:12 pm

there is no heater blower on my 75 vega. just a steel panel there to close hole. i want to put my small igniition box and coil on the panel but i dont just want to use sheet metal screws to hold box and coil to thin cover. i want to use nuts and bolts going through and need to get under that area to thighten the nuts. is it an easy job to remove the glove box liner.? im pretty sure i will be behind that liner when i install the box and coil. thanks art

I'm pretty sure the only screws are around the front opening of the glove box. The glove box door and the box come out in one piece, IIRC.

If it's similar to my 72 you shouldn't need to remove the liner it's all open and below the glove box. I did the same thing. Trans dip stick, ignition coil and oil pressure sending unit are all mounted on my block off plate for the blower assembly.
