New guy

Postby larrym » Mon Apr 03, 2017 5:00 pm

Hi just picked up this beauty!
My first Hbody going to toss the running gear from my Buick in it.
I realize the Cosworth is rare but finding the correct running gear is out of my budget.

I figure this drive train moves my 3700lb Buick into the mid 11s so in a 2700lb vega it will be a riot.
Gathering information at this point, going to need a rear end and atleast a roll bar, my buddies are saying full cage but its more of a street car than a race car.
With 323 gears over the 342 the buick has should work well and get sick gas mileage too.

so... another victim ,LOL
welcome,
a buick V6 in an H body?? what are you thinking?

don't you know EVERYBODY put a small block chevy in them?

well, I guess if your gonna do it, ask if I can be of help.

my buick skyhawk has a complete GN eng/ trans,
and stock 7.5 rear, but with axles, and auburn posi, and 3.08 gears,

start off with ideas on how your going to stop the body flex,
and, I too, thought the car would weigh 2700 lbs, but ended up just over 2800, with a/c stereo,
etc.
