I believe a spyder would have an "02" near the bottom 3 dot's. If it was a Z01 only model (do decals, but with side spyder emblems) or "02BLK" or "02GLD" for decaled versions ( option code Z01 +Z02)... So it's likely that this was indeed not a spyder. I've never seen the little Minus sign though... So your buildsheet might tell a story you want to hear.... this could have been a "Z01 only" car with the spoilers deleted. This situation would need a trim tag code to tell the workers not to drill the usual holes out for the spoiler's. The buildsheet will tell a big story...check behind the passenger side seat plastic, 4 screws. The dash is a home made color combination.

Hey Marco I have seen that dash colour combo before in a Chevy [Chevette] but not in an H-Body, but that doesn't mean they didn't, they did do it in the Chevette so we don't know when they got that silly :? Remember that was a "European Version" so all bets off from me! Harry

The codes on the trim tag were for use by fisher body assembly (chassis welding and painting) ..Pre-final assembly line ( where they switched over to buildsheet's) So, perhap's the dash at the bottom of the trim tag (not the one in between the 24 and 0370 those are the final assembly line scheduling codes).. may have indicated this car needed something drilled or welded to the chassis, due to it being an exported model. Perhaps a European speck bumper requirement to be met. However I've never seen or come across an order sheet for export specific spec's.... Chances are all cars were made to US spec no matter where they were headed, and converted to the new spec's in it's new home. So the dash may indicate the spoiler delete. But my guess the spyder emblem's probably came from the same car that donated it's dashboard. The buildsheet will have the final say. Good luck with your monza Tsev, and thanks for posting the trim tag. Same seat's as my spyder. Let us know when / if you find the buildsheet!

I have seen Chevy do that absurd colour combo in my buddies Chevette, so is it possible the "General" did that there for the European market? I would think that was possible, or like you felt, someone used what they could find. Harry

Great job Doug...one correction, chevy unit's started at 100,001...so that was the 4,304th Monza for 1978.

That had me a little confused Marco, I should of listened to my gut feeling on that one ........ :bang:
