Intake overhaul. Removed carburetor, EGR, emission valves, thermostat housing. Cleaned, sand blasted, and repainted the manifold. Overhauled the carburetor, replaced temperature sensor, thermostat, heater hose nipple, vacuum valve, AIR check valve, and EGR with AC Delco parts. Reassembled everything with new gaskets and vacuum lines.

Nice job! I love that it is a RESTORATION! No one ever really restores these cars. They all get hot rodded or hacked up into race cars or something else (not that there is anything wrong with any of those). But a true restoration is very rare!! :th:

I'm going to do a restoration on my silver 1980 Sunbird. Mainly because it is so original and complete. Interior is mint. Body needs just a bit of work and a repaint. Engine compartment has enough Ziebart undercoating to cover five cars... I just need to finish the Formula first, then build my high school hot rod, and then the Silver car. Or I may inject a Formula IMSA into spot 2 or 3... Ugh...So many projects.

Nice job! Keep it rolling!

Mice work, that is the way to do it. One thing at a time and then move on to the next. Kind of like putting a puzzle together ...... eventually all the small parts turn into one big finished piece.

I scored a tilt steering column from one of our East Coast members. Disassembled the entire unit, cleaned everything, sand blasted the tube and collar, repainted the tube and collar landau black, lubed everything and reassembled it with a new ignition switch and lock cylinder. Dash is out and I'll start on that next.

Honestly I have a little backup in photos. There is several months worth of work I have photos of, that I will be slowly posting when I have the opportunity. A lot of boring paint stripping and body work going on now.

What is the instruction manual you have there? Is it something that can be downloaded?

Mickey and Minnie have been formally evicted! I decide to replace the heater core while I was deep into the dash. I didn't think it was bad, just old and a bitch to get to. Glad I didn't skip this.
