13-inch RWL Tires

Postby mikebrow74 » Fri Jan 12, 2018 1:26 pm

I have successfully connected with a tire shop in Mexico (Serna #1) who gave me a quote of $273.37 USD for 4 205/60R13 BF Goodrich Radial T/As. They are on the Gulf Coast near the Texas Boarder. I am unfortunately in California. Shipping is a whopping $461 to me in Sacramento for a total of $734.37 delivered. ($183.60 each). I’m considering it but maybe I can find the same deal in Tijuana, much closer and a drivable distance. So I do want to confirm that these tires are still being produced and marketed in Mexico but not here in the USA.

From what I've heard, BFGs in this size aren't mad e in the US anymore.
There was talk of a group buy from Mexico, I'm not sure what ever came of it:

Unfortunately there was some difficulty in the shipping, at the prices in the first post here I guess that problem was the shipping price. They are being produced in Mexico.

The first week of each month I go to the BF Goodrich website. During daytime hours a service rep window will pop up and you can chat with the representative. They have access to the next 30 day production schedule. I ask if they have 205/60R13 Radial T/As scheduled for production. They always check and politely say no. I would encourage anyone who is interested in these tires to do the same periodically. They are still a cataloged tire but on national back order.

I am far away in California but I have confirmed that 205/60R13 BF Goodrich Radial T/As are available just over the border in Mexico. For those of you in the South Coastal area of Texas they are just over the border from Brownsville in Matamoros, Mexico.

The price is $273 for 4 tires.

You are allowed to bring back a maximum of $800 of merchandise without additional duty.

Their website is:

I am looking for an outlet in Tijuana.

I’m trying not to get too excited but I just ordered 4 BF Goodrich 205/60R13 86S RWL Radial T/As from BF Goodrich’s website to be installed at one of their dealers in SACRAMENTO CA this Saturday at 11am. I asked the online rep to confirm that these were available and he said he has 57 in the warehouse ready to ship. Total installed price with taxes is $616.05. I’ll let you know if I get them by Saturday afternoon!

If you want to encourage them to market them here, now is the time to buy a set. www.bfgoodrichtires.com

From the website, it looks like you can have BF Goodrich ship them to installers in other locations too. I tried up here in PA where I live, and I can select an installer 10 miles from me. "Free shipping" to the service provider of your choice is what the online order page states!

It is Saturday February 3,2018, 11am in California. I am at a BF Goodrich Dealer in Sacramento having these 13-inch tires mounted. I ordered them from the BF Goodrich website. They are new, 2017 production from two different production batches. This one is the last week of September 2017. Even the installer was amazed to see these come into his store. If you have been longing for 13-inch RWL tires now is the time to visit your dealer or order them on line. I’ll send pictures when I get home and resize them.

Mine are on order and should be delivered next week. Fingers crossed that they actually arrive.

Ordered mine from a local dealers. He was very confused at first and was about to give up but he was able to locate them and get them routed to their shop. He could not advise on a price but he seemed to think that they'd be about $130 each plus mounting and balancing. A bit steep but the second option is...wait...there is no second option if you want RWL.

Assuming they show, they will be mounted on my 1980 Sunbird. I have a set of snowflakes complete with the extremely rare center caps intact for them. They need cleaned and refinished so it will need to warm up a bit first.

Stay tuned!

I wonder how much hassle they'd be to get to Canada?

The bfgoodrich site won't let me type in a Canada zip code.

They are also available at Coker tire as well:
https://www.cokertire.com/p205-60r13-bf-goodrich-t-a-rwl.html

I wonder if Summit or Coker would send to Canada? Shipping in US looks to be free from Summit or Coker, at least for now...

Rick, Summit is one of the more Canadian Friendly Companies for shipping, likely no hassle at all, cost ???? As I recall they import to Canada in bulk, and combine all the import costs and then divide based on dollar amount spent, then add your share on, [this is similar to the way Magazines do it through a re-mailer]. The last time I did this their cost at the door [shipping and duties etc.] were quite a pleasant surprise compared to the "Bend over here I come ready or not" approach of the other outfits/couriers. Rock Auto is another company that is cheaper to import than shipping to the US parcel companies, and picking up on your own. I think you should try them out it is Toll Free even in Canada. Harry

My local dealer just got (5) in for me - $125 ea out the door. Came from a warehouse in Michigan and according to his rep, only 42 are in stock.
He said he could order more if anybody in southern Indiana was interested.
