I'm kinda late to the party here, but your testing procedure would have gone easier if you had the right information. At the tank, tan is the gauge sender, and blue is the pump 12v +. And you would have read 8-9 volts at the sender with the key on. With the oil pressure switch jumped under the hood, there should have been 12 + on the blue wire.
