Roof rail seals...testing the waters

Postby cjbiagi » Wed May 01, 2019 1:50 pm

I have had requests in the past for the rubber roof rail seals that are used on Monza, Skyhawk, Starfire, and Sundird hatchbacks. This is the rubber seal that mounts on the edge of the roof and seals the top and front part of the door along the A pillar. These are not available anywhere and I am looking into possibly supplying these. I already provide the glass run channels and cowl seals for all H bodies and am considering adding the roof rail seals to my inventory. Unfortunately this would be a big commitment on my part and I am just trying to reach out and see how much real interest there would be in these. Not making any promises at this point, but I know there has to be a lot of cars that could benefit from these. Can't give a firm price at this point but I am trying to keep it under $99 for a pair.

These are on my wish list Clyde, I even talked to "Steele Rubber" at Autorama and plugged the quarter window thread that someone here was working on with them. Keep me in the loop, Please. Harry

The response has been very good on these so I am going to pursue making these. I am writing down everyone's name to try and keep on top of it and will let you know when ready. I am hoping within a month or so, maybe sooner if I can work out a couple details. If anyone else is interested keep responding here and I will add your name to the list.

I have had some requests for pics of the new roof rail seal installed. I have also messaged about half the people who were interested. If you wish to just contact me feel free to do so either through PM or email at cjbiagi@yahoo.com I accept Paypal to my email address or you can contact me if we need to do a check or money order. The set of seals are $95 + $10 shipping Priority Mail within the US. If you are out of the US contact me and I will do a shipping estimate. I installed a set on my car, they look great!

Ok, I have sent messages to everyone who expressed a interest in the new roof rail seals. If you have not heard from me then you will need to contact me through PM or email at cjbiagi@yahoo.com I still will have some of these available for Monza, Skyhawk, Sunbird and Starfire hatchbacks.

Hi Clyde, picked up my seals today, very please, they are really nice, thanks. It was a nagging issue in my mind what I was going to do about those seals when I got to that point in my build since all 4 of mine where in poor shape. You solved that problem for me thx again.

At this point they are a limited run. Whether or not I will do another run after this is up in the air because I have to buy enough material for about 25 cars from the vendor. So if I don't get enough interest in making enough sets it is not cost effective for me to do. So, point is if you need them you are better off getting them while you can. Waiting too long means taking a chance they will not be available.
