All I know is that you will have to do a lot more than just tubs. The lower control arms run right along the inner wheelwell, so you'd have to relocate all the mounting brackets on the car and axle. I've considered it, but then I realized I'd may as well install a Chris Alston's rear subframe kit since the whole floorpan is going to be cut anyways.

mini tubs

Postby custom101 » Tue Dec 26, 2006 1:45 pm

good day.

There is no minitub kit available for the H Body, it depends on if you want to keep your back seat and soforth, I cant see how you could have the foldable backseat with a mini tub but you can modify the backseat to work with the mini tubs, how much are you planning to get 2 inches or more on each side?

You will have to move your springs, panhard bar and control arms inboard, on both the chassis and also brackets on the rear axle.

This is not a quick job but very do-able.

Also I would consider rear coil-overs, that will solve alot of problems.

You will have to scrap your rear sway bar and do a different rear bar( if you want a sway bar)

And in the chassis (the body) were the control arms were bolted to I would recommend welding in a crossmember, and then make your new control arm brackets to that one.

Hope this post makes some sense.

Best regards,
Jon.

i sent you some images of my car and some of a 95 camaro being built as well , the camaro and vega/monza have the same floorpan principal and rear suspension so similiar procedures can be used on both cars IMO
