I'm sure someone will chime in for stock-style hoses, but I went to my local race supply house and got some stainless brake hoses. The hose comes in different lengths, and the ends thread on. Just pick the length of hose and style of end you need and assemble.

These hoses are not DOT approved, but the only difference is those have passed the pressure test required by the DOT. The hose is the same. I have used mine for years, and have no reservations using them.

yeah that is an option as well. but i didnt know if certain model vehicles were the same such as the S-10's or G-bodys or something similar to that. or if someone knows a company or person that makes them for our cars.

Brake Hoses for Front S-10 Brakes

Postby BillB1210 » Sun Mar 04, 2007 2:21 pm

Use 1976 Nova Hoses, available at NAPA or Autozone. Be careful where the "banjo" fits into the mount. The hose will run from that banjo down to the S-10 caliper. Make sure the spring doesn't interfere with the hose, my first one was cut in half by the coil.h

76 Nova Hoses

Don't know what else will fit, but these were the ones recommended on Bob's V8 H-body site a year and a half ago. NAPA or AutoZone could cross reference them.

Russell makes a stainless braided line kit for S-10's. The front lines work fine on our cars with the S-10 front brake conversion.

The rear line (body to axle) is a bit longer than it needs to be, but will work.

I think the kit was about $79 at Summit.

yeah i found it. its not too bad of a price. i was also looking at there wilwood brake kit with rotors and calipers and thinking of getting it but the almost 675.00 price tag makes me go high pitched... lol but i might pony up and get it, after all its not only about how fast you go....you have to be able to stop after.

Looks like these can no longer be had by Napa. I checked in Autozone, and the other number that was provided by Bob Gumm, is no longer available either.

What to do?

Ron,

I'll check at work tomorrow, but in the meantime, try them for a 36845 brake hose. We've been phasing out the TruStop line, but the NAPA Brake line should be available.
