5" cowl hood fiber glass , 100 dollars savings

In case anyone looking for a hood, 249. pretty good I think. Anyone have any experience with their products? I am thinking of buying the hood today.

Sure no problem. Yes, even on their site they state that some fitment work should be expected but from what I get this is the same with every fiber glass company out there. I still have not found anything cheaper than their sale price either.

To my knowledge, Harwood is one of the best. Most of their hoods are finished underneath. But they're expensive. And they don't make H-Body stuff.

Glasstek is excellent quality and fit.

VFN is good quality and fit.

My hood from unlimited was "ROUGH" it looked like 3 sections of cowl were grafted on and then rough sanded with 60 grit.

To date still no hood??? I ordered the hood but have not recieved it (Oct 23,07). I have sent them a second e-mail and I will call in the morning.

The L-88 on my car is a Harwood, but I bought it second hand and there's no telling how old it is. So I know they use to make them.

I looked at some 4" cowl hoods on eBay that look like a real nice design. There lift of style for just $10 more. But it's the shipping that kills you. They make you ship it freight which runs anywhere from $125 to $195 depending on whether you want it shipped to your house or a terminal. What a crock! It costs the same whether it's a 100lbs+ steel hood for a Nova or a 19lbs fiberglass hood for your Vega. I don't under stand this. Your talking a box that measures about 48" X 48" X 6" for a Vega hood. You would think you could get it UPS for about 50 or 60 bucks. Don't they know us Astre- Vega owners are special?

I had a lift off hood for sale in the classifieds back in Oct.
It has approx 4inch cowl. There were no takers then, I'm really never going to use it, since replacing it with a hinged L88. Its in good shape, slight crack in one corner but not bad and repairable. I'm really tired of it taking up space.
I'd give it to anyone who could really use it. Its would just be a real hassle to pack for shipping. Anyone in NJ area that could use one, and could come get it. Let me know, PM me.

No sorry, someone came and got it on their way to picki up a car they bought off ebay in Maryland. A guy from Rhode Island I think. Cleaned out my PM so don't remember his name. Havent seen any posts from him about his car. He bought it without a hood and my house was on his way, so it worked out.
