Where to find paint

Postby Hawk231 » Tue Jan 15, 2008 10:48 pm

Anyone know where I can find paint for metal interior pieces? I'd like to find something that matches the color of camel vinyl dye. Being in a rattle can would be an extra bonus.

Thanks...

Try NAPA. They can mix up paint and inject it into a rattle can. It's the same paint you can buy in quarts, gallons, etc. It's already pre mixed to spray right out of the can. I use to work at NAPA. Our store didn't mix paint but we'd get it from another NAPA store that did. They call it omni-fill. I think the minimum they can make is 1/2 pint which is enough for 3 cans. Not the big cans but alittle bigger than the small touch up cans.

Napa mixes paint? I never knew that, at least with any Napa store I've been to. But of course I know of a dozen other places here that mix paint, and can put it in a rattle can, but that doesn't help you any.

Not all NAPAs mix paint. Our store got out of it since all the body shops in the area started mixing their own. You could try places that mix automotive paints and see if they can put it in rattle cans.

The Savage Auto Parts (KOI) store in town has a paint shop. I completely forgot about them. I know they can do it. I used to work at another one of their locations as a driver, but that was 18 years ago. Great, now I feel old...
