I've re-read the previous posts, and didn't see any mention of a sway bar change. Have you changed them? Larger bars will help quite a bit. I had a 1 1/16" front bar on my Vega, and the stock rear bar. Not the perfect set-up, but the only bar swap I could make and stay in stock. I still had body roll, but I was on stock springs. Your Koni's are single adjustables aren't they? I never heard of a double adjustable Koni for an "H" body, but they may have. I would opt for sway bars if you don't already have them, but the car still looks pretty good to me.

Awesome pics. It looks as you could benefit from my latest mod. I'm working on installing spindles with a taller upper ball joint location for that needed camber gain. I bet it would improve your front grip immensely.

You´re right, I havent changed the swaybars, they´re stock. Bigger swaybars is on of the items on my whishlist. As I said earlier, the only suspension modifications on these pics are the Koni shocks, 80-series. Yes they are single adjustable=you can stiffen the rebound damping (extension damping).

As a matter of fact, before I tested AutoX and RoadRacing, I didn´t really think that much about what makes a vehichle handle well, especially round corners. I was quite aware what camber, caster and toe-in meant, and thought like "Well, thats all you need to know". Sort of.

How wrong I was.

For about one year ago, I bought the book "Chassis Engineering" by Herb Adams:

I think this is a good book which explains the principles of suspension geometry and chassis design in a good, easy way. For a newbie like myself.
I know, there is tons of litterature out there, this was the one I bought.

It takes time (at least for me!) to absorb all this, but I think it´s fun. After all, it´s all about physics.

Roll angle, roll force distrubution, traction vs. load, circle of traction, offset, King Pin Inclination, Scrub radius, Camber gain, roll center, bump steer... Now, which was what? I have to dig into the book again...

I also cut 1 coil from the front. How much did the ride height change? I was thinking of 1 whole coil from the rear as well.

Sorry to say, I never measured the ride height before swapping springs

The reason why is that the job I was actually doing was to swap the brakesystem from my stock 1975 to a 1976 system.
When I had the CA:s apart, I got the idea to put my already shortened springs from my white Monza into the red one.

I 100% agree with the previous asjustable front UCA comment.....Lots of camber comes after...
The rear IRS helps too!!

Long time since I posted something...

I went to a track day about 3 weeks ago, that was fun!
Hmmm...take a look at the front wheel angles:

I have about 2-3 degrees "static" negative camber for auto-x:ing, but that looks a lot more...due to my worn out control arm bushings?
