New best for the Monza at the Halloween classic this 2018 with the 377 destroked 430HP motor. (rear wheel HP) 1.403 at 6.679 1/8th miles Remember were on mickey Thompson ET 26x8.5 x15 tires NO tubbed rear.
Next year there will be a 730 hp (at the flywheel HP) happening... I do not know if the rear wheels are going to handle that at ALL. But stay tuned were going to see how much this all can take!

GOT THE CAR MINI TUBBED IN THE LAST FEW YEARS.... BACK YARD JOB...LOL. LIKE THE whole car is... But I like it.
So I also put the car on E85 too for better fuel prices...Took a couple years to get it right... Top end headaches with fuel... Nightmare...
Got about 1/2 sec from the fuel and money in my pocket
110 fuel is about 12.50 a gallon now. :( YUCKO!

10.20's now.

Now we have to get the VEGA going for the #2 daughter...lol. it is set up for 8.90 right now...BUT we are going to pull that motor and only let her go 10.90 for now. 18 year old.

Hey there, I know this is an older thread, I hope it finds you. I am working on a street/strip car as well, had a few questions. How much did you narrow the rear, and also what size tires were you able to run after the minitub? Also are you still running the ladder bar? Would love to hear more about that. Torn between that and a modified torque arm style. Would value your advice. Also I have been trying to contact you re a 12 bolt or 9 housing. Thank you!

No More torque arm The rear is not narrowed any more than a s10 width stock 2wd The mini tubing requires frame rails to support the rear of the car and frame ties to afix the car so it has a full frame. Then the car has a cage in it 8 point. So there is more to this than you think.
The rails were from S&W performance BUT they required modification too as they were made for NOTCH back monza not 2+2 hatch back.
Many hurdles.
The rear wheels are 10" wide with 4.5 Backspacing ET Micky Thompson 10 x 26 slicks Pro star rear weld wheels

Thank you Sir! Was aware there was a lot to it. Was considering the S&W setup, I see that is a ton of cutting too, much more then you would imagine. I did not realize it was made for a notchback, or that there was that much difference under the car. I need to check out 454 Spyders thread also to get more ideas. Are you thinking the ladder bar is the way to go then?

Drag racing ...Yes... Street NO
Keep the stock torque arm for the street.
