did the s-10 conversion on my 73.. followed the v-8 monza instructions and purchased the 65.00 adapters... took about 4 hours to swap both sides.. also used the s-10 manual master cylender and proportioning valve setup... took extra hour or so to fit it corectly... in compartment and under dash mods for rin.. all works good and did not loose much turning radius with 15" skinnies...

I ordered the ball joint adapters from monza v8 as well. How long did it take you to receive them?

Not sure if this question has been asked or not... Has anyone just used the ball joint adapters from V-8 Monza and NOT had alignment issues? I have the front end apart now and don't mind doing it right the first time.. I would love to put tubular control arms but thats not in the budget. I have new springs, shocks, S-10 spindles along with Strange brakes ready to go in. I also believe I found that with the S-10 spindles the tread width is a little wider. I have a Weld racing AlumStars wheels for the front. Are the S-10 spindles wider?

It is reccomended to relocate the lower ball joints inward 1/4" when converting to S10 spindles and S10 ball joints.
When using the taper adapters most people dont move the ball joints to correct the spindle geometry issue.

We're building a drag car. Not sure that a little negative camber is going to hurt much if I just use the adapters...

you should be able to get offset upper control arm bushings from napa to help with this issue, i dont know the part numbers for the bushings but know others have bought them at napa fairly recently. if napa doesnt have them try clyde biagi here on the site hes been known to pull scarce rabbits outta his hat on several occasions !

I found a part at rock auto that gives you more positive camber adjustment.it worked on my 1972 vega gt.its made by raybestos part # 5601024.$18.95 per side.installs in upper a frame.gives you about 1/2" positive camber.

Sorry to revive an old thread but how much negative camber do you end up with if you center the UB sleeves over the original lower control arm balljoint holes rather than offsetting them inward as recommended? Or, if you do weld the sleeves in 1/4" further inward to try to restore the original geometry how much negative camber can you get with the Vega's adjusting cam bolts? The reason I ask is if I don't have a little negative camber in the front of the cars I drive I always end up wearing the outside tread of my front tires bald because of how I drive. I also have aspirations of doing some road type racing with my Vega when I get it done (if I'm not too old by then).

When it's done I want my Vega to be low and very agile.
