Wow, that's a lot of work! Glad I didn't have to go there! I just don't like cutting up a main load-bearing part like that, and rewelding.
In the first pic of your last post on page 1, that's about exactly where you grind it! If I remember correctly, I think the hole was ground practically to the outer lip of the UCA.
I dunno though... sounds like everyone's had a tougher time than I did.
