So I have seen the alternator on the driver side if it’s a manual steering car. I have also seen it on the passenger side with power steering and also in the middle over the passenger side of the intake manifold. The latter seems to be the location if the car has AC. I have a non- AC car and just based on the difficulty of finding any brackets for alternators or power steering I was able to find the center mounting position bracket and I’m going with that. My set up is only in the early mock up stage, hence sitting on an engine stand with no fan installed, but I shot a couple pictures of my set up. What ever you use has to set the alternator back way farther than normal to line up with the pulleys and short water pump. Same goes for the power steering pump, it has to back more than normal with a set back pulley and mounted high up so it clears the steering box.

Well for some odd reason my iPad won’t let me add the pictures. I can upload them tomorrow for you.

Zeke on this site also sent me this pic of his old alternator bracket. Still mounts in the same place as mine but it’s a one piece bracket where as mine is a two piece set up, one cast bracket and stamped bracket.

Again Chris (Zeke) I hope you ok with me using one of your pics to help a fellow h body guy out.
