barry grant 2 port fuel pressure regulator

anyone ever rebuild the barry grant 2 port regulator. bad seal was replaced with a better material. its a trick to unscrew the diaphragm to get at the seal. dont want to ruin the small brass rod so i seek knowledge. thanks //////art
