good job repairing, fixing rust is never easy. Dont forget to add the drain holes back into the lower cowl or it'll rot out again. Do you plan on adding the stock dash back in the car or a custom dash?

Yes I will add the drain holes, but I plan on using a more modern windshield trim like the one myvega used ( viewtopic.php?f=1&t=27201&p=141183#p141183/ )
That way most of the water and dirt won end up in the channel. I will use the stock dash if possible, but it is also pretty rusty so we'll see..

Rust repair on windshield frame and dashboard is done. Had to replace the whole upper section of the dashboard because of the rust damage for a new customized look =) no speaker grille.. Cut some holes for the cage and made some new mounting brackets.

Front brakes are also assembled. This is the wilwood kit for S10, nice product. Front discs with hub and bearing weighs about 5.5 kg each compared to the S10 9.5 kg. Thats 4 kg (8.8 lbs) of rotating mass removal / wheel. Then the calipers are way lighter too.

Work continues with the rear end. I found an 8.5" 10 bolt from a -70-81 camaro/firebird that has a new eaton posi, new bearings and seals and 30 spline axles. Sent the axles to moser for shortening and respline.
Cut the spring mounts off. Shortened the housing 7" the cheap way.. Made an alignment "tool" out of a piece of U shaped beam. Tack welded the tubes slowly to avoid too much heat buildup. It worked out nice.

Finally got the 3.08 gears replaced with 3.73. It was a lot of work getting the correct contact pattern but it was fun to learn.
Started working on the rear brakes. I used discs from a BMW 320 (E36) with the handbrake hardware from a 116 BMW. Ebay wilwood 2 piston calipers. Fabricated a mounting plate for the caliper and handbrake. The BMW discs needed no modifications to fit. The only thing needed is an adapter to make up for the difference in hub diameter so the disc will be hub centered. The offset on the discs is perfect.
