As mentioned earlier the LS1 and T56 have been trial fitted.
Transmission mods: I reshaped the tunnel a bit with a MAPP gas burner and a hammer.. It is very tight but the T56 fits! I am going to post some pictures of the mods when I get the engine out again. The trans had 3 ears sticking out that was in the way, removed them. The skip shift was removed and replaced with a M20 oil drain plug for a subaru. The reverse lockout will be modified to fit.
Made a new transmission crossmemer pictured below, unfortionaly ran out of gas for the MIG welder so it is not finished.
Engine mods: Had som clearence issues with the mounting brackets for the brake line on the firewall, cut 2 of them off.
The steering clearence is the biggest problem. I have started to search for a rack and pinion, seems to be the best solution. I could probably make it work with the stock steering but I dont want to raise the engine that high.
