75 h body w LS engine 4l60 driveshaft torq arm length ?

Postby Bubbabigblokwingnut » Fri Jun 10, 2022 9:27 am

Has anyone posted any information about the length of the driveshaft and torque arm being used in a Vega with a ls swap and 4l60 trans? It looks like the 4 cylinder torque arm is going to be too long . I was thinking that the 96 Camaro torque arm may be just right using it. My aluminum driveshaft measures 36 inches from weld to weld and the last 4 of the part numbers are 4004 from a fbody car. Any info will be appreciated

Sorry I can’t answer your question, but did you get the 4l60 in without cutting the trans tunnel?

Someone did use a later aluminum F body driveshaft, but there are a lot of variables that determine driveshaft length.
I have had to have mine shortened twice, once when upgrading the rear and from an 8 inch Ford to a GM 12 bolt and then again going from a TH350 to a late Muncie 4 speed which was 3/4” longer than the early Muncies.
